Redmi announced its new smart watchRedmi Watch 6In China, which comes with a thinner design and an additional button with a group of improvements compared to the previous generation Redmi Watch 5 Which was launched less than a year ago. The watch is available at a price of 600 Chinese yuan (about 85 US dollars), which is the same price as the previous version. It comes in three colors: blue, silver, and black.

It retains the same rectangular design of the previous generation, with a 2.07-inch OLED display with rounded corners. But this generation got a brighter screen, reaching a maximum of 2,000 nits instead of 1,500 nits in the Watch 5. The bezels also became thinner, making the overall dimensions smaller to 46.5 x 40.0 x 9.94 mm compared to 47.5 x 41.1 x 11.3 mm in the previous version.

Redmi Watch 6 officially launched with a thinner body

The new generation comes with remarkable thinness, as the thickness of the watch is only less than 10 mm, which is a clear achievement that makes it appear smaller and comfortable on the wrist. The weight is about 30 grams (without the belt), which is slightly lighter than the previous generation, which weighed 33.5 grams.

The watch comes with an aluminum alloy case, a rotating stainless steel crown and a new side button that can be assigned to three different modes: a single press, a long press, or two successive presses. By default, it can be used to open Control Center, Power menu, or Emergency speed dial.

Redmi Watch 6 supports Always On Display, but activating it reduces battery life. The watch contains a 550 mAh battery, which is the same capacity as the previous generation. It provides up to 24 days of light use, 12 days when health tracking features are enabled, and only 7 days when the AOD display is always on.

The watch also comes with dual L1 antennas to determine the location with greater accuracy during outdoor activities. It supports all the usual health tracking sensors such as heart rate, blood oxygen level, and sleep tracking.

In addition to than 150 sports modes to help you exercise. The watch has a water resistance rating of 5ATM, making it suitable for surface swimming and even measuring heart rate while diving.

Redmi Watch 6 works with HyperOS 3 It supports Bluetooth 5.4 technology to connect to the phone, but it does not support the eSIM chip at the present time. The watch allows payment via QR codes in addition to supporting NFC for use in smart transportation cards and digital car keys. It can also quickly reply to WeChat messages, and supports installing external applications to increase capabilities.
