Posting a video of the moment she got the artwork done on her arm, Iman wrote in her caption, “Jan 10th. The pain didn’t vanish .. it left in its place a loving permanent mark.”
She added, “#BowieForever” and set the post to the tune of the musician’s song “Subterraneans.”

that announced the news read, “David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18-month battle with cancer.”
“While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief,” the statement continued.

Iman and Bowie met when they were set up on a blind date in 1990. The two fell in love and later tied the knot in 1992, and in August 2000, they welcomed daughter Alexandria Zahra Jones.
Speaking about her relationship with the musician during an exclusive interview with PEOPLE in 2021, Iman said, “I still feel married. Someone a few years ago referred to David as my late husband, and I said, ‘No, he’s not my late husband. He’s my husband.’ Through my memory, my love lives.”
