However, Taylor said she wasn’t wearing them at the time because the event had only just begun. Plus, she was comfortable in the designer shoes she was wearing for the awards that honor the best of independent film.

“You see, as soon as you walk from the car, it’s the carpet, so I was like, ‘You know, I’ll be pushing it by bringing the slippers’,” she told PEOPLE before heading inside for the event. “And plus, my Chanel is comfortable today. It’s comfortable!”

Still, Taylor brought them just in case.

“But you know, my slippers is never too far,” she doubled down. “Never too far, never too far!”
