A statement issued by Roscosmos said: “Today, the Soyuz MS-27 spacecraft separated from the International Space Station and returned to Earth to land in the steppes of Kazakhstan, at exactly 08:04 Moscow time.”

The statement added: “The vehicle carried to Earth the two Russian astronauts, Sergei Ryzhikov and Alexei Zubritsky, and the American astronaut Jonathan Kim, and the astronauts were evacuated from the vehicle’s landing module after it successfully landed on Earth.”

The Soyuz MS-27 crew arrived at the International Space Station in April 2025, and the astronauts spent 245 days there. During this period, they carried out many research and scientific experiments, and carried out maintenance work for the station and its equipment. Sergei Ryzhikov and Alexei Zubritsky also went out on two open space missions, during which they installed equipment on the surface of the station for the “Ekran-M” and “Impulse” scientific experiments.

It should be noted that Russia had sent the Soyuz MS-28 spacecraft to the space station on November 27, carrying Russian astronauts Sergei Kud-Sverchkov and Sergei Mikaev, in addition to the American NASA astronaut Christopher Williams. The three astronauts are scheduled to spend 242 days on board the station, and will return at the end of July 2026.
