uaetodaynews.com — Taco Bell and Frank’s RedHot Dropped 4 Saucy, Crispy Menu Items

  • Taco Bell is teaming up with Frank’s RedHot for a limited-time menu that highlights the chain’s signature Crispy Chicken with a creamy Buffalo-style Diablo sauce.
  • The lineup — including a burrito, soft taco, Nacho Fries, and Crispy Chicken Strips — debuts October 16 and blends Frank’s tangy heat with Taco Bell’s smoky Diablo flavor.
  • Fans can swap in Avocado Ranch for a milder option, as Taco Bell continues expanding its sauce-focused menu strategy ahead of football season.

After reprising its wildly popular Crispy Chicken Nuggets earlier this year, Taco Bell is all fired up to explore every new saucy possibility.

Case in point: Four new menu items featuring Frank’s RedHot are hitting Taco Bell menus this week, according to a statement shared with Food & Wine. The limited-time menu pairs fan-favorite Crispy Chicken — breaded with crunchy tortilla bits, of course — with a best-of-both worlds Buffalo sauce, making it an unmistakably smoky and savory mashup.

The menu features Frank’s RedHot Diablo sauce, which combines Frank’s original flavor with the smokiness of Taco Bell’s Diablo and Spicy Ranch sauces. A Diablo-drizzled Crispy Chicken Burrito, Crispy Chicken Soft Taco, Nacho Fries, and classic Crispy Chicken Strips are all set to launch on October 16.

If you’re hesitant about all that tanginess, Taco Bell is also offering Avocado Ranch as an easy alternative. (Frank’s RedHot sauce isn’t too spicy, as the brand promises via email.) You can request it instead of Frank’s RedHot for any of the new menu items — we won’t judge, promise.

Heading into peak football season, we already know Frank’s RedHot as a game day MVP. (We’d bet your Sunday hangout includes a Buffalo chicken dip that’s dripping with the stuff.) In fact, the brand identifies with the 1964 inception of saucy, fire-hot wings in Buffalo, New York.

“This collab demonstrates the versatility of Frank’s RedHot by bringing its characteristic balance of bold flavor and heat to ignite every bite, reimagining these classics with a partner that’s just as sauce-obsessed as we are,” Valda Coryat, vice president of marketing at McCormick & Company, the parent company of Frank’s RedHot, says in the release.

Meanwhile, Taco Bell’s global chief innovation officer, Liz Matthew, describes the sauce as the brand’s “hero” of “continued success.”

Crispy chicken and bold sauciness stand out as two main highlights for the California-based chain. In the past year alone, the company has tried everything from nostalgic tortilla-breaded nuggets to made-for-social collaborations. It partnered with Mike’s Hot Honey — a well-known name in viral partnerships — for a glazed spicy sauce in May, following KFC’s heat-meets-sweet launch in February. All of this fits into a larger strategy driven by consumer feedback to add more dipping options, as Taco Bell’s team mentioned in March.

During that Live annual conferenceCEO Sean Tresvant described this year as aligning with the founder’s original vision. “What we believe (founder Glen Bell) he was trying to do 63 years ago was feed curiosity for the unconventional. That’s pretty cool: Tacos in a burger world,” he said during the presentation.

Sounds like an excellent time to hit up the Taco Bell drive-thru.
