NEED TO KNOW

  • Kylie Jenner‘s pop star era is here, with a verse on a new song called “Fourth Strike”
  • The song was recorded with Los Angeles pop duo Terror Jr., whom Jenner was connected to in a 2016 conspiracy theory
  • Jenner sings the song’s sultry third verse

Kylie Jenner is officially entering her pop star era.

At 9 p.m. PT on October 13, Jenner dropped the video for her verse on the new pop banger “Fourth Strike,” recorded in collaboration with the Los Angeles duo Terror Jr., on her official YouTube account.

Jenner, 28, began teasing the song earlier in the day on Monday, sharing the cover art in a post to her Instagram account.

The new song brings a sultry electro-pop vibe, complete with Jenner whispering “King Kylie” — a reference to her 2014 aesthetic, when bold hair and full glam reigned supreme — over its breezy beat. The first two verses are performed by Terror Jr., then Jenner jumps in to speak-sing the third in her distinctive deep voice.

“One strike, two strike, let me get the mood right,” Jenner purrs on the verse. “I just wanna tell you I’m sorry.”

“Write your name all over my body,” Jenner’s verse continues, ramping up the sex appeal. “Cross the line, I might do it again / Do it on purpose just to see how it ends.”

Jenner has long been linked to Terror Jr. The duo, made up of Felix Snow and David “Campa” Benjamin Singer-Vine, have been making music together since 2016 — and rumors about Jenner’s involvement with the band have swirled for just as long.

According to The Vergerumors swirled in 2016 that Jenner was “secretly” the lead singer of the band, which had just released a song called “Three Strikes,” leading the makeup mogul to take to Snapchat to deny her involvement.

Jenner revived those rumors on Sunday, when she posted a music video for “Glosses Part 2,” the follow-up to a 2016 video she made to promote her Kylie Cosmetics lip glosses, to Snapchat.

The “King Kylie” persona is also making a comeback with a new Kylie Cosmetics makeup collection inspired by it. The collection is set to hit the market on Saturday, Oct. 18, days after Jenner was seen wearing a modern take on the 2014 style on Oct. 11.
